Duck Tours South Beach

Duck Tours uses custom made state-of-the-art amphibious vehicles called a "Hydra Terra." Each and every vehicle is U.S. Coast Guard approved and certified "T" vessel as well as a certified passenger vehicle for use on the roadways.

The Hydra Terra is 39' long and 8' feet wide and has a seating capacity of 45 to 49 passengers. The vehicles are powered by a 300hp 7.2 liter Caterpillar Diesel Engine, electronic steering , Allison heavy-duty transmission. On land, they can travel up to 65 miles per hour and require drivers to hold a Class "B" CDL License with passenger endorsement issued by the Florida Department of Transportation. By sea, the Hydra-Terra travels at 6 knots and must be operated by a U.S. Coast Guard Licensed Master Captain.

The vessels are equipped with adults and children life jackets as well as fire extinguishers per requirements of the U.S. Coast Guard.
